Who's working in this niche market?
Discussion started by Cheryl Higley , on 15 October 05:26 AM
In the past few issues of Snow Business magazine, we've looked at trends and challenges of working in the Canadian municipal market and the changes Massachusetts is implementing. If you work in these niche markets, what trends are you seeing? What are the pros and cons? What advice do you have for others who might be interested in jumping into this side of snow and ice?

I am just starting out, and Massachusetts is not hiring any 1 ton pickups, instead requiring a vehicle having a minimum GVWR of 22,000 lbs.

I just bought a 1 ton dually pickup, so that leaves me out. I have signed up with several towns around me, and am waiting to hear back from them.

I'm working on my marketing plan and will be implementing it shortly.

But, as I said there'll be NO STATE WORK for me.
