Jim Gregor |
Sullivan Deicing Technologies (SDT), a division of Sullivan Corp., is a result of more than a decade and a half of growth in the deicing industry. SDT’s foundation in the deicing business began more than 60 years ago with packaged salt and, over the years, has evolved to include bulk deicing salt, bulk treated salt, enhanced liquid brine, and noncorrosive and environmentally friendly deicers.
According to Sullivan Corp. District Account Manager Tom Naglich, CSP, educating end users on the benefits of these deicers is the mission of one of its outstanding employees: Jim Gregor. Gregor, who has been with Sullivan since 2007, “routinely speaks to large groups at seminars and workshops throughout the Midwest,” Naglich says. “He helps train and educate our technically inclined customer base.”
“Jim is one of the most knowledgeable, dependable and levelheaded employees I’ve ever seen,” agrees Sullivan President John Fauster. “It is no wonder our business continues to grow under his leadership. Our customers know they can count on Jim and his team, no matter what.”

Jean-Pierre Habib Sales Director Operasoft Laval, Quebec |
Paul Vanderzon, co-owner of Deneigement Vanderzon in St. Bruno, Québec, is so pleased with the professionalism of his GPS system supplier contact that he nominated him for All-Stars. “Jean-Pierre Habib is the kind of salesman who always goes beyond the call of duty,” Vanderzon explains. “If I call with a problem, he not only solves it—he goes out of his way to come up with the simplest of solutions.”
And Habib doesn’t stop there, Vanderzon adds teasingly: “He then will make up a list of instructions that even I cannot mess up.”
“What I like best about JP is that he really cares that my business succeeds, and that I do well,” he concludes.

Robert Tucewicz Service Manager Traffic Safety & Equipment Co. Inc. Ramsey, NJ |
As Traffic Safety & Equipment Owner Peter Simpson explains, in recent years the company has been looking for ways to expand its local plow and spreader distribution business. Bob Tucewicz made it happen by developing Plowpartsdirect.com. The subsequent boost in online traffic and sales for the company has been nothing less than a transformation, Simpson says.
“We now sell parts across the country, thanks to Bob’s efforts,” he says. “He designed the site, added all the content, researched the shopping cart options, and tied it all together in an extremely easy-to-use package.”
The site design and marketing, Simpson says, was on top of Tucewicz’s primary job with the company as its main mechanic and “shop MacGyver.” In fact, the man co-workers fondly call “Mr. T” is the company’s longest-tenured employee, having started in 1987. “Now we don’t worry if it snows in New Jersey,” Simpson concludes. “We just worry that it snows somewhere.”
